TOEFL Full Form is Test of English as a Foreign Language. TOEFL is an internet-based standardized test of English language. This test is meant for those non-native speakers who wish to get admission in American universities. 90% of the TOEFL test takers get enrolled in their 1st or 2nd choice of university. This test is acknowledged by a lot of English-speaking academic and professional institutes. Almost 2400 academic institutes in the United States and Canada require TOEFL scores from each candidate.
Administration of TOEFL:
The TOEFL test is administered by the US-based Education Testing Service or (ETS) which is responsible for setting up the questions, conducting the test and sending the scores to the candidates. The Indian agency that conducts this test is Prometric Testing Services Pvt Ltd with its centers in New Delhi, Ahmadabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Trivandrum.
Format and Content of TOEFL:
This test is an internet-based test which is held throughout the year. Here the candidate is free to choose his or her own date and time for the test. The TOEFL is administered five days a week. The contents of the test are as “Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. Anyone can take this test as there is no restriction on qualifications.

TOEFL is a standard test for those persons, whose native language is not English and wishes to enroll in foreign universities, supplying education through an absolute English medium course. Educational Testing Services, a private non-profit organization, oversees the functioning and administration of the test.
TOEFL is divided into categories namely, an Internet-based Test, which is also referred to as TOEFL iBT, and a written test, also referred to as TOEFL PBT. Students can choose either. Both categories share a common course pattern, namely, reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
The TOEFL scores are valid for two years and can give immense leverage to admission seeking international students. Often Universities set their minimum TOEFL score requirements so it largely depends on upon the university you have applied to.
