Questar Corporation (or) Questar Gas Company

QGC Full Form is Questar Corporation ( or) Questar Gas Company.

QGC is basically an energy company which is mainly focused on the natural gas. The base of this company is located in the Rocky Mountains of the Sale Lake City, in Utah. The main business lines of the Questar Gas Company are gas producers, interstate gas transportation, and retail gas distribution. The conduction of these business lines is done by its main subsidiaries, which are Wexpro, Questar Pipeline, and Questar Gas. Wexpro is a natural gas and oil producer, located in the Rocky Mountains.

 

The origin of the Questar Gas Company began in the year 1928, in the form of a holding company called WPSC or Western Public Service Corporation. The main responsibility of this company was to transport natural gas to the Utah’s Salt Lake City from Southwest Wyoming. The production and exploration of the gas and oil were held by the holding company which was named as the Mountain Fuel Supply at that time. In the year 1998, this name was changed to the Questar Gas Corporation.

QGC deals with the distribution of the retail gas. It is basically a natural gas utility in south-eastern Idaho and south-western Wyoming. The QPC or Questar Pipeline Company mainly deals with storage and interstate pipelines in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. The Wexpro Company helps in developing and producing oil and gas on some properties of the Questar Gas. They work in accordance with the comprehensive agreement with Wyoming state and Utah. The natural gas production is delivered by Wexpro to the Questar Gas at the same price as that of the service cost of the former.
