Format of CMAT
In a revolutionary effort to modernize the Indian education system and to prevent students from the hassle of attending multiple entrance examinations for getting into management programmes, the Ministry of Human Resource Development introduced this convenient online Common Management Admission Test in 2012. It is a three-hour online test involving a single session and the following four sections of question papers (1) Logical Reasoning, (2) Quantitative Technique, (3) Language Comprehension, (4) General awareness.
The candidates are required to answer 25 questions on each of the above-mentioned segment and there is a positive marking of four marks for every correct answer and a negative marking of one mark for every wrong answer. The AICTE approved institutions all over India accept the CMAT score and taking this test has become an essential task for aspiring management students.
However, during the initial stages, certain business schools kept out from CMAT by citing the reason of late announcement by the AICTE but with increasing number of students taking CMAT these schools have also changed their previous decisions.
